‘Active Lancashire Learning Zone’ is a project delivered by Active Lancashire. When you sign up as a “learner” on Active Lancashire Learning Zone, as part of the enrolling process we collect the personal information you give us including your name, email address, postcode and organisation.
Emails and Newsletters: we want to communicate with you through email/newsletter about our site and related course(s), registration, course content, your course progress or other updates. We may also use your email/newsletters to inform you about changes to the learning / additional resources, survey you about your experience, or collect your opinion.
We want to keep you updated so that Active Lancashire Learning Zone forms part of your learning and development and you can continue to access further training, either through us or our trusted partners.
We will only send you what we really believe is relevant information and never spam you. You may opt out of receiving newsletters at any time.
Postcodes and Organisation: as the project is funded, we want to track our impact through postcode analysis. We are able to monitor the type of organisations that are using our site for their learning.
When you complete a survey, this is anonymous. Any information provided will be gathered to continue to assess the impact of the project and help us to develop ideas to better reach more learners and create more learning content.
Progress: Any reports generated for monitoring progress, course numbers, data, will be kept on a secure server and password protected.
2. How do you get my consent? How do I withdraw my consent?
When you provide us with personal information to become a learner on our site, pay for or participate in learning, you imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.
If after you opt-in you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at anytime, by contacting us at [email protected] or using the opt-out function. This may impact on the learning and support that we can offer you.
3. Disclosure
We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Use (www.active-lancashire-learning-zone.thinkific.com/pages/terms).
4. Thinkific
Our learning and site are hosted by Thinkific Labs Inc. (“Thinkific”). They provide us with the online course creation platform that allow us to bring our modules/learning to you. Your data is stored through Thinkific’s data storage, databases and the general Thinkific application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.
Payment:
If you make a purchase on our site, we use a third party payment processor such as Stripe. Payments are encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction.
Thinkific direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our site and related courses and its service providers.

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.
However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.
For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.
Certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or us. If you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.
As an example, if you are located in the UK and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation.
